The bottom station of Rothorn paradise is about five walking minutes away from the train station or the entrance of Zermatt, when arriving by shuttle bus from Täsch. The name of the middle station on your way to Rothorn is called Sunnegga, which means «sunny corner» (2'288 m / 7'504 ft). You can get there by underground funicular in about 4 minutes. Just below Sunnegga is a marmot observation area, where the life of these rodents can be experienced at close quarters. A gondola for four people takes you from Sunnegga to Blauherd (2'588 m) in 7 minutes, where the «Dwarfes' Paradise» playground with its barbecue facilities provides fun for the whole family! Various wooden sculptures line the «Marmot Trail» from Blauerd to Sunnegga. From there a panoramic cable car takes you in 5 minutes up to Rothorn (3'100 m) and its lovely mountain restaurant with a beautiful terrace.
At Rothorn paradise you'll discover the Matterhorns' most photogenic side and an unforgettable view on 38 summits higher than 4'000 m / 13'000 ft surrounding Zermatt.
The Peak Collection at the Rothorn is an exhibition, which combines art and the mountains in a very unique way. Enthusiasts can learn more about the mountains and familiarize themselves with the mountains around Zermatt. Explanations in German, English, French and Japanese. Visiting time: 30 min.
